REPORTING AN EMERGENCY
POST EMERGENCY NUMBERS BY ALL PHONES

After evacuating the building or danger area, Dial 9-1-1 to report your emergency.
It is important to stay calm and speak clearly when speaking to the emergency dispatcher.
State the type of emergency, including the number of victims or persons in need of assistance.
State the location of the incident - street address, town, cross street (a street that crosses yours and provides direct access to yours).
Stay on the line until the emergency dispatcher tells you to hang up, he may require more information or have further instructions.
If possible have someone wait by the road to flag down the first arriving emergency units, also turn on your outside lights if it is safe to access them.
Review these instructions with all members of your family BEFORE you have an emergency.
